On our trip to Utah, my husband and I explored the Great Salt Lake. It was a very cold, windy, and foggy day. I was looking at the lake, but turned around to gaze at the mountains behind me. This photo makes me feel empowered, adventurous, and at peace. The pop of red is my favorite!

I took my Discovery up the canyon to find some trail and snow and ran into another photographer and land rover enthusiast whom I’ve followed for some time. He was out shooting this Defender 110 and allowed me to jump in and shoot it. Such a beautiful vehicle. It was cold, as this was the first snow here in Utah for the year. I didn’t expect to see snow at this level but it really made for a great aesthetic for the photos of this off road machine. I shot this on a Leica SL Typ 601 with a 24-90 f2.8, the best mirrorless camera I have ever used.

Each year there is a wild flower festival held at Alta Ski Area. This was an enjoyable evening walking around the upper meadows taking pictures of all sorts of different wild flowers.

I attended a wildflower festival a Alta Ski Area, above Salt Lake City. While walking down a trail back to the parking area, I saw this peaceful fellow resting amongst the wildflowers. People were respectful in keeping their distance from him, this was shot with a telephoto.

It had been a busy wildfire season and recent burns created a stunning view of mountain layers at the summit of the Pfeifferhorn. The hike includes scrambling the ridge seen in the lower right to gain the summit.

While my group and I were snowshoeing in the Utah mountains, others were cross-country skiing, like this couple. The contrast of their jackets agains the enormous and strong evergreens caught my eye. Each of these trees is carrying is hundreds of pounds of snow and it makes for a beautiful scene.

This photo was taken in the mountains of Utah over a frozen lake on a beautiful January day. The folks in the distance were snowshoeing, as were we. There were about 3-4 feet of snow on the ground that day.

I am not a photographer, but I had to take this picture. Although I cannot remember which ski resort I was at when I took this, it is either Snowbird or Canyons Resort. I was in awe of the scenery when I came off the chairlift and had to take the photo.
